Artwork Description

Holiday time. I couldn’t resist the amazing curved glass of the VW Classic Beetle. The artwork is painted in acrylic on the inside of the glass and shows a large number of holiday objects. I created a mock up of this painting on my living room floor. This reminds me of childhood holidays when we would all pile into the car to go from Coventry to Corton Caravan site on the Norfolk coast. The whole of Coventry would virtually empty during what was called ‘Coventry Fortnight’ when all the factories took a holiday. The roads would be packed with cars escaping from land locked Coventry and in those days it was a real adventure! On the reverse of this painting are some holiday related themes.
